In our last trip to discover the Bel Paese we fell madly in love with Umbria, a region rich in history and traditions, where good food, wine and hospitality are at home. And it is precisely hospitality that we want to talk to you about in this article, the one that was reserved for us at the Hotel Bramante by Elena and all her staff.
The Hotel Bramante is located in Todi, right in the center of Umbria and is situated in the spaces of the ancient convent of Santa Margherita, dating back to the XII century. But it's not over here.
The Hotel, in fact, is located literally in the shadow of one of the most famous monuments in Italy, the Temple of Santa Maria della Consolazione, a work attributed to Donato Bramante, hence the name of the hotel and the origin of its coat of arms.
Arrived at the hotel we are greeted at the reception with courtesy and professionalism. We are immersed in an environment rich in history, which still retains the original stone walls and terracotta floors, where luxurious yellow sofas and soft lights make everything even more magical.
The hotel has different types of rooms (from Suites to Economy), all furnished with taste, refinement and antiques.
Crossing the corridors we are immediately struck by the colors and intensity of the decorations. Even the doors are colored. So let's understand why the Hotel Bramante is also known as the Painted Hotel.
Over the years, in fact, the decorations and design of the structure have been curated by the artist Meg Roberts. The result? Wandering around the hotel is like being in a museum full of works of art to admire and contemplate. We had never seen such a precious thing.
Elena (a woman of great kindness and a contagious smile) has reserved room number 109 for us, a Deluxe room with pastel-colored walls perfectly matched with the beautiful parquet. We enter the room and immediately open the shutters, curious to see what awaits us on our private terrace. What can we say, we were amazed by the beauty of the Umbrian landscape that presented itself to our eyes. The gaze is lost admiring the valley and the surrounding Umbrian hills. We would have spent hours observing such beauty.
Once the luggage is settled we begin to explore the open spaces of the hotel. The strong point is certainly the swimming pool which directly overlooks the valley. Being able to relax admiring such a panorama certainly does not happen every day. In addition to the swimming pool, the property also offers guests a tennis court, a five-a-side football pitch and many green spaces where you can enjoy a bit of tranquility (even yoga sessions are organized). Do you think that's all? Absolutely not, we have not yet told you about the wellness center where you can enjoy fantastic massages or simply a sauna, a Turkish bath or a whirlpool.
Last but not least, the Santa Margherita Monastery Restaurant (in memory of the convent that occupied the spaces of the Bramante hotel today). The internal rooms of the restaurant, where the dishes of chef Aldo Mosca are served, are elegant and refined (like the whole hotel).
Could the panoramic view be missing? Absolutely not! (By now you will have understood that we have fallen madly in love with the Umbrian landscape).
WHY CHOOSING HOTEL BRAMANTE ?
Hotel Bramante is synonymous with elegance, charm and hospitality. If you want to enjoy a few days of pure relaxation immersed in the wonderful setting of the Umbrian landscapes, in close contact with hundreds of years of history and art, this hotel is for you.
And then let's face it, when do you have the possibility to sleep in a former 12th century convent?
Special thanks go to Elena for welcoming us with such availability and kindness.
