Arriving in Venice we found Mr Rossano waiting for us, ready to take us to Palazzo Stern with the beautiful vintage luxury boat (an original Celli from 1956, which the structure makes available to its customers, by reservation). What to say? We are only at the beginning and we have already understood what the level of attention and care towards the customer is from this hotel.
We sail through the Venetian canals until we reach the Grand Canal and here we are, in front of us, Palazzo Stern, a beautiful building in typical Venetian style that stands proudly on the waters of the canal.
Once the boat is moored, we go directly to the hotel lobby and are greeted by the kindness and professionalism of the staff, a special thanks to Daniele and Manuel who made us feel like at home. Hurry up the quick check in practices we are accompanied to our room. The interior of Palazzo Stern really leaves you speechless: frescoes, mosaics, carved wooden stairs and luxurious chandeliers, all referring to the pomp and luxury typical of the golden age of the Serenissima.
Opened the doors of our room (a Grand Canal View Junior Suite) we were literally open-mouthed. Here gold reigns supreme: the headboard of the bed, the silk upholstery, the chandeliers and the period furniture make the suite a small jewel that recalls antiquity. The strong point? The view on the Grand Canal, from which we admired a beautiful sunrise the following morning.
It does not often happen to wake up in the morning and have breakfast directly on the Grand Canal, the most famous canal in the world. Here it is possible. The terrace of Palazzo Stern is nothing short of fantastic. A continental breakfast with cappuccino, fresh fruit juice, cheeses, pastries and more is served daily. Don't you want to go out on the terrace? No problem, you can ask for breakfast to be served in your suite.
Last but not least ... As if all this were not enough, Palazzo Stern also offers its customers a Jacuzzi on the roof. What could be more beautiful and relaxing than a nice bath over the roofs of Venice, perhaps at sunset time?
The location of this hotel is very central and convenient for visiting Venice at its best. The Ca' Rezzonico vaporetto stop is located next to the hotel (with number 1 you can navigate the entire Grand Canal, from Piazzale Roma to San Marco and then continue to the Gardens and Lido of Venice. Map'City • VENICE). Piazza San Marco can be reached from the hotel in 10 minutes on foot, crossing the Accademia Bridge (from which you have one of our favorite views of this city).
We had the honor of seeing all the rooms offered by the structure. Standard, Deluxe, Superior Grand Canal View, Suite and Junior Suite Grand Canal View are the types of rooms that you can find at Palazzo Stern. All decorated in traditional Venetian style, with period furniture and equipped with an espresso machine, bathrobe and slippers with gold decorations that perfectly match the room's tapestries (we loved the attention to all these details). Not to mention the bathrooms, all mosaic and equipped with every comfort.
Two other Venetian hotels (all 4-star superior) belong to the Palazzo Stern family (Dazzo Group): Albergo Santa Chiara, in a strategic position near Piazzale Roma and the railway station, and Locanda Vivaldi a few meters from Piazza San Marco.
