World Mappers' Rating: 8/10
Tenuta Moreno is located not far from Mesagne, a Salento municipality in the province of Brindisi. To get there we leave the main road to go into the Apulian countryside and we already understand that this estate will be surrounded by nature. We were not mistaken, before arriving at our destination we passed through beautiful olive groves and magnificent orchards.
The arrival at the entrance already makes us understand the "level" of the structure where we will stay: an elegant paved driveway from which we glimpse the pool leads us directly to the reception, in a large hall with sofas and bookcases that convey a sense of peace and relaxation.
Hurry up and check in quickly and discover our room: large, elegant with a large balcony overlooking the estate and the surrounding nature.
Tenuta Moreno is a huge structure (88 rooms, swimming pool, tennis court, five-a-side football pitch, bowling alley, restaurant, congress center and wellness center ... we don't hide the fact that we got lost sometimes).
We could not begin our stay by the swimming pool. Defining it as a swimming pool is perhaps an understatement given its size, complete with a small island, bridge and whirlpool. All immersed in a green garden of holm oaks and olive trees, enriched by "Roman" style columns which give an elegant aspect to the whole swimming pool area. A nice regenerating bath at sunset made us start this stay in the best way.
For those wishing to explore the magnificent countryside around the estate, a bike park is available with vehicles suitable for all needs and ages. A totally gren way to discover a piece of Puglia.
For dinner we relied on the chef of the estate and his traditional Apulian and Italian dishes served in the internal courtyard of the estate, alongside a swimming pool carved into the rock.
The following day, after a good breakfast (Marco would have eaten a thousand pasticciotti, a pastry pastry, typical of the Salento area, stuffed with custard ... a delight) the moment we had been waiting for has come. try the Tenuta Moreno spa. In our opinion, the strong point of the structure.
We enter a very bright environment that transmits peace and tranquility instantly and we are immediately greeted by the smile and sympathy of Paola, the spa manager who has reserved the Spa for us. Before giving us a few massages, let's discover all that the center has to offer. Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, Kneipp path and aromatic sauna are just some of the things we have tried, obviously alternating with moments of relaxation with a delicious herbal tea and some biscuits.
As if all this were not enough Paola makes us try an innovative "dry floating" system, also known as "cloud experience". That said, it doesn't seem like anything (or you don't understand what it is), but we assure you that it was an unforgettable experience. You lie down on a bed, you are wrapped in a kind of membrane and magically the bed begins to go down and you find yourself wrapped in water, without getting wet. The warmth and the feeling of absolute relaxation made us feel protected and peaceful as if we were in the womb. We never wanted that bed to rise again!
How to end this relaxing afternoon? Obviously with a whirlpool and a good glass of sparkling wine. What can we say, we can never thank Paola enough for pampering us in this way.
Are you going to stay for a few days at Tenuta Moreno? Then we advise you to take some time to visit Mesagne, a few kilometers from the estate, with its narrow streets and white houses typical of these areas. To visit the Castle, the city walls, the Municipal Theater, the municipal clock and the Hypogeum oil mill.
WHY CHOOSING TENUTA MORENO ?
When you think of Puglia you immediately think of a stay in a typical masseria, but there are many valid choices and one of these we found in the Moreno estate, a structure that will certainly welcome you in the best possible way, with attention and elegance, to a relaxing holiday immersed in the nature of the beautiful Apulian countryside.
