WHEN TO VISIT CAPPADOCIA
Cappadocia is perhaps one of the most famous destinations in the country! It is in fact known for its famous "fairy chimneys" and for the classic and timeless image of hot air balloons at dawn! It is a unique place in the world thanks to its landscapes that seem to derive from a fairy tale. Undoubtedly spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) are the best seasons to visit Cappadocia as temperatures are milder and weather conditions are much more stable.
The climate is generally very dry and the temperature variations between day and night are always quite marked, so even in late spring it can get cold at night.

Visit a Caravanserai
One of the stops not to be missed are certainly the caravanserais: typical buildings of Persian culture generally consisting of a wall that encloses a large courtyard and a portico. They were used to stop caravans crossing the desert. They are currently on the list to be recognized as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

How to reach Cappadocia? The best way is definitely by plane from Istanbul. The reference airports are Nevşehir and Kayseri. The first is 40 km away, while the second is about 70 km away. Many more daily flights depart from Istanbul from Kayseri airport, so even if it is a little further away it is usually preferable, in order to find better times that allow you to optimize your time.
Do you want to experience a hot air balloon? Given the large influx of tourists, it is often difficult to find available places if you don't book well in advance (at least 2-3 months in advance). There are only 25 flight companies and for this reason, given that demand is high and supply is limited, prices are certainly not cheap. So hurry up!
Where to stay? The Cappadocia region is not very large and this makes it easier to choose accommodation. All the villages are located within a maximum radius of 15km and are the following: Göreme, Uçhisar, Ürgüp, Ortahisar, Avanos and Mustafapaşa.
