During our stay in Zurich we stayed in the heart of the city, at the Opera Hotel Zurich, just behind the Opera house. We were warmly welcomed by the hotel staff and the check-in process was really fast. Indeed, practically absent. We explain better, at the Opera Hotel you can check-in from your smartphone and have the "mobile key" directly on your mobile phone. A fantastic way to save a lot of time (and for us it's the optimal solution since every time we arrive in a city we can't wait to rush to explore it). The reception is located in the Hotel Bar because: "check-in takes place where you feel at ease".
Während unseres Aufenthalts in Zürich waren wir im Herzen der Stadt, im Opernhotel Zürich, direkt hinter dem Opernhaus.
Wir wurden vom Hotelpersonal herzlich begrüßt und der Check-in war sehr schnell. In der Tat praktisch abwesend. Wir erklären es besser: Im Opera Hotel können Sie von Ihrem Smartphone aus einchecken und den "Handyschlüssel" direkt auf Ihrem Handy haben. Eine fantastische Möglichkeit, viel Zeit zu sparen (und für uns ist es die optimale Lösung, da wir es kaum erwarten können, jedes Mal, wenn wir in einer Stadt ankommen, sie zu erkunden). Die Rezeption befindet sich in der Hotelbar, weil: "Der Check-in findet dort statt, wo Sie sich wohl fühlen".
At the entrance, the big yellow LOBBY sign immediately strikes, introducing the customer to what has become a "philosophy of life" for this hotel. To fully understand the idea behind this space, we report directly the words taken from the hotel website:
"Welcome to THE LOBBY! Where locals and visitors mingle: THE LOBBY, our brand-new social space and Zurich's latest melting pot".
A meeting space between hotel guests and local people, where it is possible to spend time in total relaxation, read one of the many books available, have business meetings or taste some good dishes of the kitchen (taste their tarte flambée, you won't regret it!). Just think that every Sunday afternoon there are games of the most beautiful classic games such as checkers or chess.
The Lobby welcomes the customer or visitor with a warm and enveloping décor with slightly retro features (which we like a lot). Sofas, chairs, books, beautiful paintings and mirrors on the walls make this place very pleasant.
Am Eingang erscheint sofort das große gelbe LOBBY-Schild, das den Kunden in die für dieses Hotel zu einer "Lebensphilosophie" gewordene Philosophie einführt. Um die Idee hinter diesem Bereich vollständig zu verstehen, berichten wir direkt über die Wörter, die von der Hotelwebsite stammen:

Ein Tagungsraum zwischen Hotelgästen und Einheimischen, in dem es möglich ist, Zeit in völliger Entspannung zu verbringen, eines der vielen verfügbaren Bücher zu lesen, Geschäftstreffen abzuhalten oder einige gute Gerichte der Küche zu probieren (probieren Sie das Tarte Flambée, das werden Sie nicht bereue es!). Denken Sie nur daran, dass es jeden Sonntagnachmittag Spiele der schönsten klassischen Spiele wie Dame oder Schach gibt.
Die Lobby begrüßt den Kunden oder Besucher mit einem warmen und einhüllenden Dekor mit leicht retro-Elementen (was uns sehr gefällt). Sofas, Stühle, Bücher, schöne Gemälde und Spiegel an den Wänden machen diesen Ort sehr angenehm.
What did we like the most? Definitely the breakfast area. It seems to be in a home kitchen where everything is perfectly in its place: croissants and bread served in the center of the room, beautiful glass stands with homemade cakes and then jams, juices, yoghurt and much more.
Was hat uns am besten gefallen? Auf jeden Fall der Frühstücksbereich. Es scheint in einer Wohnküche zu sein, in der alles perfekt an seinem Platz ist: Croissants und Brot, die in der Mitte des Raumes serviert werden, schöne Glasständer mit hausgemachten Kuchen und dann Marmeladen, Säften, Joghurt und vielem mehr.
The types of rooms at the Opera Hotel are varied. It starts with the Classic and then Classic Plus, Smart Room, Superior, Superior Plus and Deluxe. All very nice and elegant. The gem? a Nespresso coffee machine available for guests. And for us who love good Italian coffee (and we hardly find it abroad) it was a very welcome surprise.
Die Zimmertypen im Opera Hotel sind vielfältig. Es beginnt mit dem Classic und dann mit Classic Plus, Smart Room, Superior, Superior Plus und Deluxe. Alles sehr schön und elegant. Das Juwel? Eine Nespresso-Kaffeemaschine steht den Gästen zur Verfügung. Und für uns, die wir guten italienischen Kaffee lieben (und den wir im Ausland kaum finden), war es eine sehr willkommene Überraschung.
