THE NEW "KISS of MARTALAR" in Molveno by MARCO MARTALAR
After the Vaia Regeneration Dragon in Lavarone, in the Cimbra Alps (province of Trento), the Lagorai Wolf, the Vaia Eagle (near Grigno), the Vaia Griffon in Tesino, and the Pradel Bear, here is another incredible work by the artist, this time directly in Molveno, Trentino. Like Marco Martalar's other works, the "Kiss" was constructed using tree debris and roots from trees felled by Storm Vaia, which destroyed much of the forests of Trentino and Veneto on the night of October 29, 2018. Through thousands of expertly shaped and assembled pieces of wood, Martalar creates two imposing figures joined in an embrace and a romantic kiss, positioned in a fairytale location overlooking Lake Molveno. Be careful, though, because the work won't last forever: the wood used hasn't been treated and is therefore destined to change and disappear over time, following the natural cycle. The work represents a hymn to love, union, and the profound bond between man and nature.

WHO IS MARCO MARTALAR?
The Kiss of Molveno is not the first work of this kind by artist Marco Martalar. In 2020, in Mezzaselva di Roana on the Altopiano dei Sette Comuni, where he lives, Marco created a Winged Lion using 1,500 pieces of shrubs and trees felled by Vaia, becoming the largest Winged Lion in the world (three meters high and 4.5 meters long). Soon after, the artist achieved incredible success with the Vaia Dragon in Lavarone, a symbol of resilience and rebirth. This was followed by the Lagorai Wolf (inaugurated in 2022), the Vaia Eagle (inaugurated in 2023), the Vaia Griffon of Tesino (inaugurated in 2024), the Pradel Bear, and the brand new Vaia Regeneration Dragon.
